Humankind, Nature, Technology in the Perspectives of World Religions
Peter Koslovoski
   Page : 189 - 189
What positions do the world religions take on the topic of the world exposition EXPO 2000 in Hannover on `Humankind, Nature, Technology'? What can the world religions contribute to illuminate the topic? How can EXPO 2000 as a meeting point for ideas and knowledge contribute to dialogue among the world religions and lessen tensions and conflicts? The Hannover Institute of Philosophical Research is carrying out the project `Humankind, Nature, Technology in the Perspective of the Religions. A Discourse of the World Religions' with the support of the Stiftung Niedersachsen — the Foundation of Lower Saxony in Emden, Germany and at the site of the EXPO 2000 at Hannover in the years 1999 and 2000, thus before and during the world exposition.

In five public international discourses, the ideas of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism on the EXPO theme `Humankind, Nature, Technology' will be presented. The Hannover Institute of Philosophical Research and the Foundation of Lower Saxony cordially invite the interested public to participate.

First EXPO-Discourse. `The Concept of God, the Origin of the World, and the Image of Humankind in the World Religions' in Emden, Germany, 3 & 4 September 1999.

Second EXPO-Discourse: `The Propositions in the World Religions about the Origin as well as the Overcoming of Evil and Suffering' in Emden, Germany, 17 & 18 March 1999.

Third EXPO-Discourse: `Humankind's Relationship with Nature and Participation in the Process of Creation by Technology in the View of the World Religions' in Hannover, Germany, 22 & 23 June 2000.

Fourth EXPO-Discourse: `The Progress and End of History, Life After Death and Resurrection of the Human in the World Religions' Hannover, Germany 24 & 25 June 2000.

Fifth-EXPO-Discourse: `Philosophical Dialogue of the Religions Instead of Clash of Civilizations in the Process of Globalization' Hannover, Germany, 20 & 21 October 2000.
